Science Week
Science Week 2022
Science Week was an action packed week.
It Involved Lots of fun, experiments and results. Science Week occurs around November. Here are some highlights from Science Week 2022.
Here are some experiments we did during the week-
Balloon powered cars for this experiment we constructed a car using a shiny carton skewers bottle caps a straw and a balloon using tape and other materials we were able to blow the balloon up using the straw and it worked our end result was a success .
The catapult for this experiment we used a bottle cap, a ruler, a piece of paper, tape blutack and string. For this experiment we were put into groups and our challenge was to make a catapult that works using an instruction. We made our very own catapults we were able to fling stuff using our catapults. The end result was an overall success.
Egg drop challenge for this challenge our goal was to make a structure for an egg and drop it from a height. If the egg remained intact then the challenge was a success. Many people tried using different materials for this challenge such as a sock, balloons, rubbish bags, foam and more. Most of the eggs had survived the drop so I would say the challenge was a success.
The junior room also did many exciting experiments like creating their own lava lamps using empty bottles water, cooking oil, food colouring and Alka Seltzer tablets. They were a complete success when your turned off the lights and closed the blinds.
Our Senses Experiment for this experiment the junior room had to guess what the smell was. The teacher would put something like coffee into a coffee cup with two nose holes and then the children would have to guess what it was. The Juniors had a great time with this experiment.
They also did a experiment using jars, celery and food colouring and water they put 3 pieces of celery in different jars with water, Red food colouring and blue food colouring. after a couple of days the class got their results. The celery in water had no progress ,the celery in the red food colouring had turned a small red and the celery in the blue food colouring had turned blue
During science week we did a science trail everyone had loads of fun running around and answering questions.

Sam Answering a question on our science trail.
