Schull community College Science Visit

                     Schull Community College Science visit.

The first years from Schull Community College came to visit our school to teach us some science experiments. We waited for them to set up down our hall. When they where finished we came down to see what was instore for us. They were all in different stations of the room and we were put into partners. Michael and I were partners and the first station we went to was the magnet station.
The student showed us a massive magnet to pick up screws, keys and bolts. The
second thing he showed us was these magnets inside a plastic cover where if you dragged a magnet across the top it would control the magnets inside.

The second station we went to was the strawberry DNA where we sucked the DNA out of the strawberry. It was lots of fun and very fascinating.

The third station  Michael and I went to was the electricity station where they taught us how to connect circuits and if you spun a wheel the light bulbs would light up it was hard a tiering.

The fourth station was the PH level station where this student taught us the differences between neutral acidic and base she demonstrated by having different containers filled with milk, coco power, lemon juice, and cabbage water she tested cabbage water first and it came out acidic, milk came out base, lemon juice came out acidic and cocoa powder came out neutral.

The fifth station we went to was the microscopic station where you would put different coloured lenses with pictures of insects on it. The pictures were tiny and if you put them in the microscope and looked in they looked really big and you could see the insects and the colour.

The last station we went to was the lung station. The student a had a bottle cut open and she stuck a balloon on the bottom so if you pulled the balloon its like you where breathing in and out. She also showed us what would happen if you where smoking and she showed what your lungs would look like if you where and the results where shocking. It was a fun and interesting day at the end and I really enjoyed it.
